We are a non-pet property. Pet violations and cleaning will be subject to a fee of up to $300.
We do recognize and respect ADA regulations and are familiar with Title III designations.
- "Service Animals" allowed are those that have been trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability.
- Pets providing emotional support, well-being, comfort or companionship are not recognized as service animals under ADA regulations.
- All ADA service dogs who accompany a guest on their stay at no time can be left unattended in their room or on property.
We are a smoke-free property. This includes your porch/balcony, and other sitting areas on the property. There are two nearby beer gardens were smoking is permitted. Smoking violations will be subject to a fee of up to $250.
We run the first night’s stay + tax on a credit card (MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express) at the time of booking. The balance is due upon arrival (limit 2 transactions per reservation at check-in). We do require a credit card on file for all reservations. Our tax rate is 13% (7% local and 6% state tax).
Because of our size, cancellations affect the Gruene Mansion Inn significantly. A $25 transaction fee per room is charged when a refund is issued. If cancellation is made within 2 days of scheduled arrival, a fee of $125 will be deducted from your deposit and the remainder is refunded to the credit card on file.
We welcome children in any of our courtyard rooms, as well as the Bluebonnet Lodge and Grand River Lodge. Because of the romantic nature of our River and Mansion rooms, these are reserved for adults only.
Occupancy/ Extra Person Fees
Room rates are listed with each room description and are based on double occupancy (exception: Bluebonnet Lodge, Grand River Lodge, and Texas Suite rates are based on four people). Extra guests, where permitted, are charged $25 per night.
Minimum Age to Reserve a Room
Because of alcohol being present in rooms, there must be an adult of 21 years or older in each guest room.
Check in/ Check out
Rooms are available for check in at 3:00pm, we will always notify you if the room comes available before 3:00. We offer a Self-Checkin procedure. You will receive a text on your arrival date with a map of our property and access instructions for your guest room.
Check out is 11:00am.
Minimum Night Stays
A two night minimum is required for weekend stays, and a three night minimum for most holidays.
We offer on-property parking and will provide you a parking pass upon arrival which should be displayed on the dashboard of your vehicle. Any car without a pass is subject to towing.
Photography sessions on property are by appointment only, and are $25 for a 1 hour time slot. Please call 830-629-2641 and sign up for a day and time. Upon arrival, the photographer must check in at the Front Desk, pay the fee, sign the waiver, and will be issued a lanyard to wear while on property. We allow photos on the front porch of the Mansion, our arbor, gazebo, and our courtyard. Absolutely no photos on guest porches or in front of guest rooms.
Weddings/ Room Blocks
We do not host weddings on property. We welcome overnight guests for your events, however we can not block rooms. We require a deposit of 1 night stay + tax per room. You are welcome to give our website or information to your guests and they can either book online or call our Front Desk to set up their reservations.
We offer a unique meeting space for groups of 5-20, which may be rented for any corporate function or group outing Monday- Friday.

Lost and Found
Articles left behind are held for 7 days, and then we contribute appropriate items to a local charity. If claimed, we ship USPS and add the charge to your account.
